    The weather is always perfect in VesiVeijari. There is both an indoor and an outdoor slide, which are sure to thrill you all day long.

  • Toivonen Animal Park

    The Toivonen Animal Park and Peasant Museum offers something to see and do for the whole family. In the museum area, you can get information about the life of a rural village in Central Ostrobothnia from the beginning of the last century. In the zoo you can see the rural fauna in its traditional setting. During the summer, there are numerous exhibitions and work demonstrations in the area. There is also an extensive demonstration of old tractors in the area. You can unwind in the café and children will enjoy the playground area.

    The surroundings of Kokkola offer ideal routes for cycling. We have 200km of nature trails and 190km of cycle lanes. By bike you can conveniently see the most beautiful places in Kokkola. We have listed our 10 favourite destinations for cyclists. Winter rental bikes are also available.

  • Golf or minigolf

    Kokkola Golf Course (founded in 1957) offers a cozy and challenging golf experience for both beginners and more experienced players. The beautiful field, full-service clubhouse and restaurant offer many unforgettable moments. A full-size 18-hole golf course near the centre of Kokkola. How about a mini golf game? It is possible at Kokkola Camping in Meripuisto.

    In Kokkola you can catch a variety of fish on the sea, rivers and lakes. Fishing and ice fishing are included in the general public´s right, but when you fish with bait or gear, you must have paid the state fisheries management fee. A fish-rich place is located on the breakwater in Meripuisto. Fishing piers are great places to fish also with children.

    Take a peek at Kokkola’s past with augmented reality. Download the Salmi AR- app on your smartphone and a journey to the past can begin. You can find two routes in Kokkola from the Salmi AR- app, Kokkola Maritime history, where historys moments are introduced to you by Kokkola’s city residents, local dignitaries and King Gustav II Adolf himself. The other route goes along Trullevi’s hiking route, where you get to explore signs of land uplift together with Kola the seal an Kokko the gull.

  • Brita Maria Park

    Brita Maria Park is a functional park that offers sports opportunities for all ages. The park is centrally located along Sunti, right next to the city center. It has a tree park of 90 species, an amphitheater, a roller skating rink, an electronic sports game, a barbecue area and a climbing net. Roller skating rink 500 m (cross-country ski run in winter), climbing frame, electronic play equipment, skateboard area, DJ equipment, barbecue area, amphitheater.
